Zoey is really going green by building her tiny house out of repurposed items such as an old camping trailer frame, recycle wood materials and anything she can get off craigslist! Wow now that recycling!

Very curious about this form of alternative housing. So you will see stumbles from blogs like this one. Also looking on how to incorporate alternative energy into these homes.

Great beginner's guide to locking down your router, good guide to read once you bring home that shiny new router, make sure you change the default settings on your router or you'll be giving away your internet to everyone within range.
How To Dual Boot With Xp and Ubuntu

Good how to that you should read if you are considering dual booting like I have done. Linux makes it too easy to have your cake and eat it too ... so to speak. BUT please before doing any surgery such as this, follow the 3 R's. RESEARCH READ then RESEARCH some more. Know all the steps involved and then backup all your important data in XP before trying anything, Backups are the only way to ensure you can recover your XP if so something goes wrong. My suggestion is to get an external usb drive bigger than the one in your PC, then use that drive manufacturer's cloning program (usually included with new drives) make a backup of your ENTIRE drive and then do the Linux install, if anything goes wrong then it is as simple as changing the BACKUP drive for the one in your PC. When you boot up it will be like you never tried to install Linux. But I would give it a few tries before giving up because it is well worth it. If something goes wrong then follow the 3 R's Rule to figure out what went wrong.

I've used Copernic way back in the day, I think I had Windows98 at that time. It was cool but since at that time I didn't have an abundance of files to index, it was pointless to keep it running wasting my Ram. Currently I use Google Desktop and have never had a reason to switch, but even GD uses a good chunk of my memory for such things ...

Nice article on the freeware alternatives to the likes of Norton, McAfee and any of the pay for suites out there ... that rob you of your memory, money and cause havoc on your computer sometimes because they are mostly bloatware.

I have given up on Vista. From a usability standpoint, it is not that much different from XP that would merit the upgrade. The "security" features in Vista, I have already been using for years now (SPYBOT) - using 3rd party products that are open source or freeware. Readyboost can already be implemented in XP using an inexpensive alternative (EBOOSTR). The Aero theming engine is just annoying at times what with the amount of ram it uses. I like having Windows Media Center but truthfully there are other programs that play media better than WMP and WMC, VLC does just fine and Songbird instead of iTunes is a winner. You can also check out MediaPortal if you want a Media Center experience. The breadcrumb style navigation can be had for XP using QT Address Bar and while you are at it, add QT Tab Bar so you can use Tabs in Windows Explorer just as you do in Firefox! The sidebar has been around for awhile now for XP, you just gotta' decide if you want the Google offering or Desktop Sidebar as your favorite. Obviously if the Vista Eye Candy is all that matters to you then I will point you to Stardock.com to fufill your needs. I've seen Windows7 previews on YouTube, and visually, it looks the same as Vista, which wasn't all that stunning to begin with ... you decide - I'm heading toward Linux and using virtualization for Windows on my next PC project. I mean afterall, there are only a few Windows apps that I MUST have, so running Windows in a virtual PC would be just fine with me. Goodbye Windows, it's been a long, sometimes enjoyable road since MSDOS 6.22 but I'm too tired to chase down your deficiencies any longer, I've got real work to do ...
