Ok, I hate to sound like a noob but I just happened upon a Compiz Themes website and was astonished to see how EASY it was to apply a new theme to (k)Ubuntu!

I have used Linux in the past with some success. I can remember my first Linux install that went well, it was Corel Linux which I acquired at the bargain bin at Best Buy for a mere $1.99. I was intrigued by the fact that I could run a different OS other than Windows so I went for it. I believe it was running an early version of KDE, but most of my hardware wouldn't work with it, like my network, sound, and video.

BUT Linux has come leaps and bounds from those early stages. Don't take my word for it, just search around for the info you want. It's too easy these days.

Anyway, I just logged onto my Kubuntu box and was a little dismayed at the lack of theme choices in Emerald Theme Manager. I know, in Emerald you can easily make your own themes, but I don't really want to do that. In Windows, I would simply download a file from Wincustomize and Stardock WindowBlinds would open it up and let me use it. That's what I wanted. Point > Click > Apply. I know that's so noob so please forgive, I'm just being lazy.

Well, Compiz-Themes.Org has the same features. Download > Emerald Theme Manager > Import Theme < DONE! Very nice. I had a new look to my desktop in seconds.
